American-Canadian actress Sandra Oh promoted the ongoing movement 'Black Lives Matter' at Emmy 2020. She did so subtly, with a royal purple jacket, and in Korean.

Sandra Oh's gesture was nothing less than magic - spreading the message through continents with the help of a platform like the Emmys. It is also special because the gesture comes at a time when Korean culture has been taking continents by storm.

She was seen in a royal purple coloured jacket, which in itself is a popular colour in Korea. The jacket had 'Black Lives are Precious' written on it, mainly because there is no literal translation of 'Black Lives Matter' in Korean.

The characters read from top to bottom, right to left. The jacket also consists of dashes, known as taegukgi in Korean. It has been lifted from the Korean flag and represents celestial bodies and natural elements.

The royal purple attire also consisted of another detail- a hibiscus, which is the national flower of Korea. In short, it was all things beautiful.

Take a look:

Black Lives Matter is a movement which began to spread awareness about racism happening across the world, and the need to stop it. The movement gained momentum after incidents of black men, women and children being harassed, and some times even shot by police officers, came to light.
