In a rut of B-Town’s bandaged barbies, Diana Penty stands out, thanks to her laid-back, pared-down approach to dressing. Picture a closet full of anti-fit dresses, boyfriend shirts and languid maxis and you get the drift! The tall and statuesque beauty has often shown a liking for basic denim separates, camel essentials and monochromes with a cool spin on layering. Even if she has gone all out on the red carpet, her style has never screamed of any artifice. Simple, spare yet striking! Perhaps this relaxed-but-polished touch to every look of hers make her one of the most individualistic dressers around.

EPITOME OF CASUAL CHIC

With her modelling background and a killer hot bod, she can rock just about any va-va-voom number, but she has never gravitated towards the tried-and-tested femme fatale direction.

Designer Aniket Satam hails her as the metaphor for casual chic. “She has carefully curated her own personal style which subtly spells relaxed glamour. She easily makes any high-street trend look super chic keeping it on point and fuss-free. Her wardrobe comprises timeless classics without being boring and she keeps it minimally sleek,” says Aniket.

A LANGUID BOHEMIAN

Also, there’s a sliver of bohemia in her wardrobe — from anti-fit jackets to midi-length soft dresses to floor-sweeping maxis. Designer Arpita Mehta pictures her in the yoga dressing space.

However, she likes to see the model-turned-actress most in Indian wear. “She has an ethnic, traditional face and her personality comes out the best in Indian clothes,” she adds.

GIRL-NEXT-DOOR VIBE

Diana comes across as a chilled-out person and radiates a girl-next-door vibe which also reflects in her choice of dress. Stylist Eshaa Amiin says, “She carries the tricky mid-calf lengths very well in a scenario when most actresses usually prefer well-fitted, sexy clothes. Not everyone can pull off anti-fit pantsuits or dungarees like she does.”
