Counting his lucky stars

While the anti-incumbency is a big weight on Congress veteran Gurudas Kamat, we hear what's really riling up the 5-time MP from Mumbai North West is the Bollywood circus that's set up set tent in his constituency. While thankfully small time actor Kamaal R Khan withdrew as the Samajawadi Party candidate, MNS has fielded green horn Mahesh Manjrekar while item girl Rakhi Sawant has jumped in as the official candidate of Rashtriya Aam Party - if you haven't heard of it, it's because she formed it herself a couple of days back.

While Kamat would like to believe his real battle is against Shiv Sena candidate and last year's runner-up Gajanan Kirtikar, he's not averse to deploying Bollywood fire-power himself. Which is why he's more than pleased that a popular star like Salman Khan has chosen to back him over debutant and Bollywood colleague Manjrekar. Whether or not he personally admits it, at least his managers feel this endorsement will get him father than all the talk about utilising his entire MP fund.
