Men’s facial fuzz is enjoying its time in the spotlight under the hashtag #BeardsFromBelow. It shows men sharing photos of their neck, their beard sitting on top, a topsy-turvy selfie if you can call it that. So far more than 80 photos have been shared under the hashtag on Instagram, with men flaunting their bearded looks from different angles. And while this seems like a bizarre trend, it’s not the first strange selfie trend to see the light of day.

Here’s looking at other such strange selfie trends.

T-Rex Hands

Beauty maven Huda Kattan coined the term and shared that it’s basically the (calculated but slightly random) placement of your hand anywhere on your face. Your fingers should have a subtle, relaxed curve to resemble the clutch of a Tyrannosaurus rex while still keeping it classy.

Riccing

Another selfie trend that went viral back in 2014 was Riccing.  It was inspired by actress Christina Ricci, who shared pictures of herself fitting in a washer and even a refrigerator. And there were others ready to follow suit, trying to squeeze themselves into small spaces.

Hairfly/hairsmile

Yes, you guessed that right, you can’t really put a face to it as all you get to see are tresses as that’s the highlight. The trend apparently originated in Japan. Also dubbed the ‘face-down’ pose this trend became huge back in 2014.

Sparrowface

After duck face and fish gape, the preferred pout happened to be sparrow face, something that became very hot in Japan. There were ways to practise the coveted look. All you had to do was open your eyes wide and part your mouth slightly, like you’re a baby bird waiting for a tasty worm.

Tongue selfie

The credit for this one goes to none other than singer Miley Cyrus. As a whole legion of fans started posing with their tongues out.

Healthie

Selfies giving you a glimpse of people’s workouts, diets and just how they are following a healthy lifestyle.

Belfie

Also called a butt selfie, this one became huge way back in 2013, and goes by the idea, if you have been blessed or have worked to get a good behind, there’s no reason why you should not flaunt it.
