On Friday, the first episode of Bacha Party season 2 aired on Zee Khana Khazana. Unlike most food shows, the new season immediately followed after season 1 ended. But for round 2, expect to see some changes. For one, the host and chef on the show, television actress Gurdip Kohli Punj looks fitter. The show will also have children participate with chefs to recreate recipes. Budding young chefs will also be invited on the show this time, Gurdip reveals. "I am looking forward to learn from my young colleagues who will be joining me this season," she says.
What has Gurdip most excited though is that her four-year-old daughter being Meher may also feature on her show. "It's still being worked out. As we have just started shooting, we might have her (Meher) a little later on the show." In fact there's a recipe that Gurdip will share with her viewers that had her daughter help her while make it at home. "My daughter loves pizza. When I tested this multigraon pizza recipe in my home kitchen she even helped me put the toppings for the pizza," Gurdip beams.
Gurdip, who also hosts All 'Bout Cooking on the same channel that has her about ingredients, kitchen appliances and cooking techniques, may not have underdone professional training but she says that she always enjoyed cooking since she was young. "Hailing from a Punjabi family, every weekend we headed to the gurudwara where we rolled out chapattis, chopped vegetables and stirred large pots of dal as a part of seva. I always looked forward to these weekly visits," she shares.
Gurdip is only glad that food makes up for a major part of her professional life too. "Both my husband (Arjun Punj) and I are fond of cooking and we like to experiment with different cuisines." Gurdip also plays an advisory role in Arjun's restaurant, overlooking the working of the kitchen and designing the menu.
