While the beer guzzling, adorable Homer from Simpsons is making news across the globe as TV presenter Steve Miller believes that the cartoon dad's obsession with alcohol and snacks promotes unhealthy eating habits among viewers, Indian artist Adrine D'mello has personalised Homer's posters with an Indian context. With his Facebook page, 'Homerization', Adrine has created a series of posts on Homer's habits, everyday situational humour and a specialised Diwali poster featuring both Marge and Homer.
We caught up with Adrine D'mello about these creative posters, the ideation stage and the overall process of sketching. Below is a small interview followed by a series of posters.

What all events do you track to make the posters?
My main concept is to cover a persons current state of mind at different days of the week and apart from that I try to cover topical stuff like Diwali and being a football fanatic I've also covered the English Premier league and the Indian super league. I think these topical homerizations have made a lot of difference and we've crossed 350 likes organically on the page within 10 days of establishing it, we are hoping to cross the 1000 mark in the next two weeks and may be a 10,000 mark by the end of this year.
Since when have you been making it?
I've been sketching for a really long time but have just started with Homerization less than a month ago. I used to sketch various characters earlier but just as an hobby but with Homerization its something different and more than just an hobby
Can you explain about the ideation process before these posters go up?
Before any of the Homerizations go up, me and my team ideate on what is the current scenario like. What are the interests of people. What is the situation in the country and around. I also speak to a lot of my friends about their work life culture and that helps in the ideation as well.
