Ancient inspirations
Egyptian Pharaos convinced society that they were immortal with the help of life keys symbols and they used it as a tool for the continuity of their authority. This exploitation last for centuries. Sefkat Islegen was impressed with the symbol when she was in Egypt. However, she think that it is a fallacy. In her collection of work Life Keys, she has tried to adjust it to the modern-day and make it more beneficial to humanity and prepared an exhibition accordingly. As far as she observes, "everybody has a key and an objective in life. It can be anything, such as money, art, love, beauty, nature etc even though we're unaware of." According to Islegen, painting is "an activity of thinking and creating, and it is also a way of living."

Learning present from past
Distinct feature of Ashok Bhowmick's exhibition is his manipulation of rendering of images, which makes living objects appear frozen and energizes inactive, lifeless elements. Bhowmick will showcase his journey of four decades in Epic On Rock Shelters. His determination to express his art in a simple and uncomplicated yet distinctive style remains unchanged. He is known for surmounting several mediums, like pen, ink and acrylics on paper and canvas, however not just restricting himself to paintings but also working with wood and bronze for sculptures with mostly animal and human representations, elaborately covered with crosshatches in simplicity and mellow monotones. "I have tried to learn contemporariness from the people who lived in the caves of Lascaux, Bhimbetka, and Altamira thousands of years ago," he says.
