CLARINS: ULTRA PROTECTION
From the house of Clarins, comes a product titled UV Plus. But don’t let the name fool you. Behind it is the guarantee of a Clarins product that it sets out to deliver on its promise. The UV Plus Anti-Pollution is a plant-powered multi-protection formula devised to preserve the beauty of all ‘Asian’ women, since Asians are most prone to the harmful UVA and UVB of a tropical sun.
In a study done on the product with Asian women, there was a marked improvement in skin quality in just eight days in terms of skin colour, vis a vis less tanning, brighter skin and less yellow skin.  The texture test reported a more refined skin surface—healthier and evenly toned. Reports say, 93% of women find it to be the best invisible protective shield for their skin.
So what are the ingredients that go into this remarkable new product?

  1.  Cantaloupe Melon Extract: This is considered as a powerful anti-oxidant containing high concentration of superoxide dismutase, which protects the skin cells from oxidizing stress, caused by UV and pollution.
  2.  Blackcurrant Extracts: These are added to the UV Plus Anti-Pollution, due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
  3.  White Tea Extracts  Another anti-oxidant protection aid, which abets the process of skin healing.
  4.  Lampsana/Lapsana: An annual plant, this species has developed the capacity to survive in highly polluted environments. Its extract stimulates the skin’s natural defences into action and encourages the survival of cells in a hostile, polluted environment.
  5. Thermus Thermophilus: Although it sounds like a character from Harry Potter, this ingredient increases the skin’s resistance against harmful effects of pollution by reinforcing the structure of the corneal layer by increasing the difference in the epidermis.
  6. The product comes in three shades: Neutral, baby pink and baby blue. While the first is hardly visible on the skin (containing a transparent finish), the pink is recommended for a bright luminous skin due to its transparent pink glow. As for the blue? It’s the perfect finish for a flawless complexion, it leaves the skin looking even and bright.

NIVEA: THE Q10 PEARLS OF WISDOM
The name needs no introduction in India, as it does worldwide. Skincare experts from the brand having spent 15 years of research have now created an anti-wrinkle face-care range containing the
Q10 ingredient.

 What is Q10?
Scientists say it’s a powerful enzyme that is present in the cells of our body to procure energy. As the epidermis is most prone to environmental and other stress with internal processes kicking in, Q10 is the antidote to this. Ageing skin, however, needs help from the outside since a lot of the natural enzyme is depleted. Here’s where the Q10 Plus comes to the rescue in the form of Nivea Q10 Plus Serum Pearls.
Scientific research has proved that if a skincare product with Q10 could replenish the levels of Q10 within the skin, a study concluded that the application of Nivea Q10 Plus twice daily for two weeks saw a significant increase in the amount of Q10 in the skin.
