The house of SS Homme — Sarah & Sandeep has celebrated the craft of traditional tailoring through their unique bespoke process. The stylish couple shared the lowdown on their personal style with After Hrs.

What does style mean to you? How do you interpret your personal style?

Sandeep: It’s a strong visual representation of your personality. My personal style is contrasting, you’ll either see me suited and booted and lazying around in a comfortable T-shirt and chinos. But clean lines, always.
Sarah: Style is individualistic and should be ever changing. My personal style is clean, structured, minimal with a hint of masculine.

Who are the style icons you admire and why?

Sandeep: I’m a fan of versatility, so David Beckham wins on that front. While I don’t really appreciate celebrity style as it’s more a by-product of a stylist, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Brady carry off suits pretty sharply.
Sarah: Victoria Beckham, her sense of style, cut and colour is the perfect definition of power dressing for women.

Which city according to you is the fashion capital of the world?

Sandeep: While I love Italy and all its quirks, got to go with Paris, France.
Sarah: Paris.

Your favourite brands in India and internationally?

Sandeep: India — Love the aesthetics of Delhi-based Lacquer Embassy and appreciate Shantanu & Nikhil’s contemporary approach to ethnic menswear. Internationally, a fan of Thom Browne, Tom Ford and Paul Smith.
Sarah: Ashish N Soni, Victoria Beckham and Yohji Yamamoto.

Which era in fashion history appeals to you and why?

Sandeep: Definitely the 1960’s. Thats when colour was introduced to menswear, and comfortably slim silhouettes worked well.
Sarah: Beau Brummell and British dandyism — it was the era where men gave importance to their physical appearance and were immaculately dressed.
