Neha Dhupia’s style 'fundas'

Neha Dhupia on how she is one of Bollywood’s best dressed celebrities

Q: What is your idea of style? Define your personal style.
A: I love to wear what I feel comfortable in. I like to dress according to the occasion and I first choose the shoes that I want to wear and then dress up accordingly.

Q: What was the first fashionable outfit/accessory you wore?
A: My first accessory ever has to be the gold balis gifted by my mom. Not only did they make me look pretty, they also had an emotional value that made them special. I still have the pair with me.

Q: In your wardrobe, what is the one fashionable outfit/accessory you cannot do without?
A: I just can’t do without a big dial watch. I love to hoard as many watches as I can. And I feel a big dial black or white or chrome watch can add oomph to a dull and not-so-happening look.

Q: Have you ever mixed and matched trends?
A: I am not a very fusion kind of person. But I love to mix and match my accessories. I love to add spirit to my look with my accessories. If I’m wearing a heavily embroidered dress I will just wear long earrings and a chunky watch.

Q: Name one trend that you just don’t understand.
A: One thing I don’t understand at all is hipster style pants that look absolutely weird and highlights the butt in a not-so-sexy manner.

Q: Name a celebrity whose fashion sense you admire/like.
A: I love Audrey Hepburn for her classic style. And in India it is Sonam Kapoor as she carries herself very well — be it in Indian wear or western vintage outfits, she accessorises with a quirk.

Q: People follow celebs. Where do you, as a celeb, get your fashion tips from?
A: I don’t follow any fashion trends. Whatever I wear is as per my frame of mind or what I feel on a particular day. I love to watch work done by designer friends and take a cue from there.
