Although she plays a relatively simple traditional girl in her latest release Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, off screen Bhumi Pednekar likes to go glam and experiment with various make-up looks. The actress admits to being particular about her skin and hair care routine and prefers to take the natural route. She talks all things beauty with After Hrs...
I am obsessed with vanity and make-up so I have cupboards full of products — I am a hoarder. My essentials though are mascara, foundation, concealer and a lip balm. This is what I use regularly.
I love skin care. I cleanse. tone and moisturise everyday. I make sure I have no make-up on my face before sleeping and I’m constantly changing my skin care products because I think your skin gets used to it and then they stop working. I don’t believe in using hardcore chemicals or creams. I like more natural products.
I do my Olaplex (colour protective treatment) every two months. I go for a hair spa whenever I get a chance. I use a lot of vitamin E on my hair. I’ve recently started oiling my hair.
I wish I had found one. I recently developed an acne issue. I didn’t have it before so I am trying to figure it out. I think eating right is the way to go about it. If you eat healthy, your skin will be fabulous.
I’m a sucker for good skin. Madhuri Dixit-Nene has been an idol growing up, she has brilliant skin.
It changes every few months. Right now I’m using Si by Giorgio Armani. I also love J’Adore by Dior. I like rich, intense fragrances.
I love using honey, turmeric and some milk on my face. I use a lot of egg white on my hair as a mask. I also use argan oil, sometimes I mix it with the egg whites. Activated charcoal also works well for my face, I learnt about it through Instagram.
I eat a lot of foods that have vitamin E. I make sure my nutrition levels are upto the mark. I am particular about my daily intake of vitamins and minerals... I’ve already seen a change in my skin.
My lip balm. I use Dior Addict Lip Glow. Whenever I am out and don’t want to put too much make-up, I just use mascara and a bit of the balm on my cheek and I’m ready. It’s dewy, pretty and just lights up your face.
I either go nude or I go really deep. I’m not into pinks. I like deep maroons.
Once I coloured my hair on my own before going on a trip to Europe. And my hair was orange in colour. I had kept the dye on too long. I eventually had to dye it black again.
Just mascara, lip balm and maybe some concealer. I wear my hair down all the time.
Don’t do a lot with your skin till you reach a certain age because your skin naturally needs to exfoliate, and naturally needs to heal itself. Until recently, I was only using almond oil on my face. My mom didn’t let us use creams and I’m thankful for it.
