Food review: Mezzo Mezzo, Juhu, Mumbai

The place is one of my favourite restaurants. And each time I’ve visited it, I’ve realised that it’s always been consistently good, both in food quality and service. I feel that just because you are conscious of your calorie intake, doesn’t mean you have to compromise on the good taste.

Sacrificing that would make it tough to stick to the healthy diet, but this place doesn’t make you compromise on that. It’s healthy fare meets good taste all the way. So, this time around, I’d ordered for a ham salad starter with mozzarella cheese and it was done perfectly well, especially the ham, which was superb. The portion was just right, filling in a healthy way, yet leaving enough scope for the main course.

For the main course, we had grilled salmon with veggies on the side as well as pasta with white sauce and chicken. Again, both were very healthy and cooked to perfection. The fish is medium grilled, and very well-done, but a bit bland, so I added some tabasco sauce and chilli flakes for some added spice. All preparations are made in olive oil and extremely healthy. The pasta looked yum and tasted yummier. The quantity is just right too, and leaves scope for a dessert. We tried the tiramisu, which just melted in the mouth and was worth the indulgence.

It’s a classy fine dining experience here that we are talking about. The staff is attentive, and even pampering to a great extent, but not overbearing. The service is impeccable. It’s quick and efficient. Right from the moment you step in, you know that you are in for the best quality service.

The staff helps you settle in comfortably, offer recommendations too, if you find it hard to decide for yourself, given the variety available. As you settle down, there’s already a round of bread on offer. A perfect family place, it offers open tables and also special cubicles for those seeking a little privacy. The view is amazing too, as overlooking the huge glass window is the beach that lends it a very airy feeling. Overall, I think it’s a great place to go with your family or friends.
