Giving your dog a bath

Question: My dog hates to take a bath. What do I do?
Answer: You don’t have to worry as most dogs feel that way. In case the dog is actually afraid of the water, don’t drench him. Instead, get a wet sponge and wipe his body gently. Give the dog a ‘treat’ and pet him and praise him after the sponge bath. This might ‘desensitize’ him by taking the
object of his fear and converting it into something that he would look forward to.

Question: Should I shout at my dog loudly ?
Answer: There is no need to do so. A dog’s hearing is far more powerful than yours and if you just talk to your dog in a soft voice, he will be able to understand it and interpret the sound better. Otherwise, he thinks you are barking as well and will happily join in the chorus.
