From the inside, however, pomelos vary in colour. The most commonly found in our country is usually pinkish inside. Other varieties include white to yellow flesh.

Pomelos are mainly a citrus fruit, which means they are a great source of vitamin C and helpful for acidity. What’s more, they are
excellent for immunity, and help maintain the elasticity of our arteries. They are also easy to digest and being high in fibre, keep our systems squeaky clean. And if you need one more reason to eat them, think glowing skin and shiny hair, along with improved eyesight.

Pomelos are also extremely high in flavanoids and antioxidants which are not only helpful in combating all kinds of cancers but also getting rid of various toxins caused by free radical damage.
They are are a versatile fruit and lend themselves well to all kinds of salads. They go particularly well with all kinds of lettuces, adding that extra zing to the dish.

You could also eat them just the way you eat your orange — simply cut, peel and pop the segments in your mouth. You could also blend it to make a juice, but ensure that you do not strain it to lose the fibre. It is, however, always advisable to eat your fruit, rather than drink it.
