Come rain or cold, juicy pears provide health and good taste. The benefits of eating the pear (also known as naspati), are as listed below:

Medicinal uses:
1 Pears are often recommended as a hypo-allergenic fruit that is high in fiber but less likely to produce adverse reactions.Pear juice is safe to be introduced to infants as they are mild, yet healthful.

2 The high vitamin C and copper content act as good anti-oxidants that protect cells from damages by free radicals, resulting in healthy skin and hair as well as an increased immunity. It can protect from colds.

3 The high content of pectin in pears makes it very useful in helping to lower cholesterol levels.

4 The fruit has anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogen glutathione which helps prevent high blood pressure and stroke.

5 When not juicing, eat the pear whole for its precious fiber that are highly beneficial for your colon health.

6 The pectin in pears is diuretic and has a mild laxative effect.Drinking pear juice regularly helps regulate bowel movements.

7 You can get quick and natural source of energy from pear juice, largely due largely to its high amounts of fructose and glucose.

If the pear contains a high content of iron, then it turns a deeper shade of brown after a short while.

Culinary uses:
An interesting way to have pears would be to follow these few, simple steps: Boil two Chinese pears, juice with some raw honey and drink warm. This is extremely healing for the throat and the vocal cord. Otherwise, eat the pear as you would eat an apple, simply wash the exterior, cut it and munch away.
