Oh! How I love my Sundays and especially when I get to see my girlfriends. This past week with some home cooked and rather delicious bruschettas, pastas and blueberry cheesecake, the mood was just perfect to spend some quality time with them, talking about random things, a little from here and some from there. (Oh, you girls know how right it is!).
After having talked about a million other things, we came to muse over a rather pricking question. What does it mean when a guy says "Call me"?
Those two little words I must say are the most boggling and can play big games with a woman's mind if she's not aware of what they really mean. But the bigger question here is, do they actually mean anything at all to begin with?
Wait, I think I'm getting ahead of myself here. Just a minute into the discussion and all the ladies in the room went fanatical and started filling the room with their opinions. I must say guilty as charged, I was very much a part of them. We created many scenarios as to what this seemingly straightforward phrase could really mean.
"Maybe the guy is too lazy to call," or "maybe he is trying to brush me off," to "maybe he is hoping I won't call him." If we continued this way, we could have gone on forever about this, after all, analysing is one of the favourite pastimes of the fairer sex.
What happened next took all of us by surprise. (With all the scattered answers, who could really expect logic?)
Now, some women seem to forget that many men do not communicate like women (talk about expectations here!). They are much simpler. Not simple in a bad or ignorant way, just simple in a straight-forward, what you see is what you get, sort of way. And although, there are always the few slippery deviants who slide past, most men are pretty uncomplicated. There we had it, a simple answer to a global phenomenon.
Ladies don't get me wrong since I don't speak for anyone but myself and my belief. Simply put, when it comes to the matter of the heart; just do as you wish to and don't make things too complicated when they need not be. So when a boy tells you 'call me', do call him.
