Change is inevitable...not!, writes Sajid Khan

Fashions change. Trends change. Styles change. Bed-partners (depending on the size of your bed) change. Attitudes change. Latitudes change. Tastes change (as with her cooking, I’m always puking). Hairstyles change (unless you’re Vin Diesel). Speaking of Vin Diesel, he is that diesel whose price always keeps going up.

It’s time for a change. The mood of the nation is demanding a change. Blowing with gusto are winds of change (no, I am not talking about my padosi, Mr Chadda’s flatulence problem).

Affections change. And why not... the one who loved you, now loves someone else who you love and now, reverse it completely! Sounds like the plot of a film co-directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Imtiaz Ali and Lawrence D’Souza.  Times change (depends on where you’re flying and how much jetlag).

Generations change. Hip words change (in the ’70s, it was dig, groovy, golly. In the ’80s, it was cool, freakout, fish off. 90’s was ruled by ‘yo’ and the 2000s by ‘bro’. Then came ‘dude’ and now…everything is just rude!).

Communications change. Jo kaam pehle kabutar karta tha woh ab postal vibhaag karta hai (Arre, dirty minds! I’m referring to letters, not litter). Phir uske baad phone, pager, mobile and now free video calls. Modes of entertainment change. We don’t say, ‘It was a great film’ anymore, we say ‘That was a quick download’.

Change, change, change. Yup, change is inevitable. Hard cash to soft plastic. The change is coming. At least, that’s what the tellers at the bank are saying. The only thing which is difficult to change is the `2,000 note to smaller cash.

That change is inevitable… not. Not for now, at least.
