Shaken not stirred: Seven funky cocktails to begin the New Year
Cocktails

As many head out to parties to bid the old year adieu, these heady concoctions invented especially for the holidays are sure to leave you gin-soaked and fuddled. Take a look at some quirky cocktail names rounded up from the Maximum City as an alternative to popping bubbly at midnight on New Year's Eve.

Santa Singh

Monkey Bar's signature, Santa Singh (available till January 6) mixes East with West and is served in a bottle-shaped glass with a festive garb wrapped around the bottleneck. Inspired by the traditional European milk punch served during the holiday season, the drink mixes vodka, Old Monk rum and a chocolate ganache.

Ginger St James

Another drink to charm the whiskey drinkers at Monkey Bar is available till January 6. This golden, intoxicating mix is made using an Irish whiskey blended with ginger and infused with brown sugar syrup and ginger ale.

Santa's Tipple

Bombay Brasserie, the all-day bar, is serving a round of festive cocktails well into the first week of January. These include Christmas Wine-Deer, Red Rudolph and Gingle-Jangle. But for all the beer drinkers, Santa's Tipple might just be the right mix of beer, whiskey and house spice.

Oh, Schnapp!

Tired of the ol' peppermint schnapps, Monkey Bar offers a butterscotch and oat cookie inspired cocktail (till January 6). Made from homemade butterscotch schnapps, it is then blended with coconut cream and Bailey's cream liqueur.

Smokey Affair

Thirsty City 127 in Todi Mills serves a smoked grain and herbs drink. The gin cocktail has a gravity filtered dark white liqueur, homemade dill cordial and lime, and topped with quinine water.

Jingle my bells

This cheeky drink served in a champagne glass is available at London Taxi till January 1. Made with sparkling wine, a touch of elderflower and apple juice, it is served with a generous serving of fresh red currants.

Bahama mama

As tropical as it may seem, this Bacardi Carta Blanca doused cocktail is served at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Karjat to keep warm in the winter. Mixed with orange, mango and lemon juice, a dash of Grenadine and topped with dark rum.
