As the print partner at Zee Jaipur Literature Festival 2019, DNA provided enthusiasts with diverse opportunities across platforms to immerse themselves in the ambience
Poet and critic Matthew Arnold once described journalism as literature in a hurry. However, aficionados at the recently held Zee Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) 2019 found print partner DNA’s presentations across platforms to be well thought out, extremely comprehensive and considering the sheer quantum of knowledge shared from the curtain raiser to daily updates, clearly involving a great deal of time and effort.
One of the world’s largest literature festivals, JLF brings together a diverse mix of the world’s greatest writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sports people and entertainers on one stage to champion the freedom to express and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue.
This year, JLF was encapsulated in the specially curated 20-page DNA JLF edition, distributed during the fest to visitors and speakers, with each day’s highlights captured on dedicated pages in the subsequent regular Jaipur edition.
A live Twitter wall, daily slogan writing and photo opportunity contests covered in print the next day reflected the experiential nature of the activities held by DNA. With creative selfie frames shaped like the famous Jaipur Jharokas there were many contact points on ground as well.
We present glimpses of the five-day program from January 24-28, 2019 set against the backdrop of Rajasthan’s stunning cultural heritage and the Diggi Palace in the state capital Jaipur, where enthusiasts stayed put braving the rains, cheered multiple generations, gained insights on themes as varied as science fiction, the correlation between literacy and health as well as cleanliness, digital media, rural versus urban and of course, celebrity perspectives.
