CM Vasundhara Raje reached Anupgarh on Friday afternoon on the second day of the third leg of  Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Bikaner division. Farmers and women, who were present in large numbers here, were the focus of her address. Raje assured everyone that the problem of displaced people because of Pong Dam will be solved soon and said that Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur was in Jaipur on Friday and  the officials discussed with him the issue.

She pointed out that the repair works of Indira Gandhi Canal has been taken up by the government. She mentioned that Rs 132 crore were spent on restoration of canals while Rs 200 crore were spent on lining of Ganganagar Canal. “This lead to additional land worth 92,000 acres getting irrigated,” Raje said.

Raje also said that electricity connections at Rs 500. The CM also targeted Congress for not doing anything to strengthen the electricity system and said that her government had developed electricity system in the region worth Rs 150 - Rs 200 crore.
