Jaipur Police claimed to solve the Chetan murder mystery in the next 10 days, on Tuesday. However, they also claim to take the case forward only when the Forensic Science Laboratory report is out. “You have full right to know about the every-day progress. I assure you that I will solve the case in next 10 days,” said Pratap Mal Kedia, assistant commissioner of police, Amber, while speaking to members of various social organisations at Jal Mahal.

These social representatives held a demonstration demanding justice in Chetan's death.

The demonstrators alleged the police of deliberately misleading the investigation. They condemned the DCP to have ‘declared’ it a suicide the very next day and said that it reflected that police has been trying to establish it as a suicide. “We will carry out a huge rally on the eleventh day if the result doesn’t come out,” said CP Saini, head, Phule Brigade Samaj.

ROPE

The latest investigation by the Police reveals that the rope with which Chetan was found hanging, is not available in Jaipur. This is an astonishing finding as Chetan’s family claims he did not go out of the city in the last few days before his demise. “The colour of the rope with which Chetan was hanged is not available anywhere in Jaipur. There are several other ropes of different colours, but no rope of that colour is available anywhere at any shop. This might have been bought by some shop outside the city,” said Ram Kishan, SHO, Brahmpuri.

LOAN

The account details and the call logs of deceased also reveal that he had taken two loans of Rs 1,30,000 and Rs 70,000 from different financial companies, Ram Kishan, SHO, Brahmpuri informed. This, however, is not as big amount for which Chetan might kill himself considering the family stature he belonged to. “He had received a call from someone called Shahrukh. Shahrukh works in a financial company who had called to remind for the installment of Rs 5,000 which had to be paid this month,” Ram Kishan said. However, this is in contrast to the family’s claim that no loan was taken by Chetan.

Anwar

ACP Pratap Mal Kedia informed the members of social organisations that they have not sidelined the relationship with Anwar, who was a business partner of Chetan. “We haven’t closed the topic of Anwar. However, till now we believe his visits to Chetan’s house were justified. We are looking at each aspect of his visit, and members of his team. We haven’t come to a final conclusion,” Kedia said.
