Politics should be aimed at bonding, not creating division, said chief minister Vasundhara Raje addressing a gathering of youths at Birla auditorium under a program ‘Vikas Ke Liye Rajniti’ (politics for development) organised by Centre for Media Research and Development (CMRD) on Friday.

Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe also graced the event and shared his thoughts on the topic ‘Samajik Badlav Ke Liye Rajniti’ (politics for social changes). Raje said the idea of 'new Rajasthan' and 'new India' can be achieved when “we progress with a mindset of taking everyone together rather than having a self-centric approach.”

"We will write a golden future for the state with inclusive growth approach instead of exclusive mindset. In these times of globalisation post to liberalisation, the expectations of common man from the government are growing and it is required the government shoulder the masses to meet their hopes. Until we change our mindset the aim of development through politics cannot be achieved,” said Raje.

Raje also called for a politics which bonds masses not create division. “’There was a time when power was achieved with a politics of division. Now the time has arrived when politics of bonding can be the only mantra of development. We cannot push politics of development while keeping people poor. The sentiments of poor people need to be respected and only then we can make developed State and Nation,” said the CM laying stress on inclusiveness in the society. She further said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken various important decisions for the welfare of people.

Legacy of cultural 'Inclusiveness'

A Rajput family girl, married into a Jat family and has daughter-in-law from Gurjar. This was the perfect example of  discrimination-free society given by chief minister Vasundhara Raje while describing herself at the meet. "Had there been more wards of mine, they too would have been free to marry as per their will," she added. Cultural 'inclusiveness' thus is an everyday reality, "and it’s not political, but a social aspect," she said. In times when political leaders rise on political divide and cities and states are brought to halt by caste hatred. A woman chief minister has courage to portray a live example of standing against all cultural bounds, caste, creed and gender.
