Vasundhara Raje wants top quality water storage structures

The third phase of the campaign in the desert districts state will begin from December 9

Laying stress on no compromise on construction quality for water storage structures being built under Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abiyaan (MJSA), chief minister Vasundhara Raje instructed the district collectors to give priority to finalising Detailed Project Report (DPR) of third phase of the campaign slated to commence from December 9. Raje on Monday was reviewing the campaign in a meeting along with senior officials engaged with it at her residence.

“The collectors must complete DPR on priority so that third phase of the campaign can be started on schedule. The in-charge ministers, secretaries and other people’s representatives to attend inaugural programmes of the campaign in districts identified. Similarly, more and more people invited by organizing a special program at the sub-division and village panchayat level,” says a government statement quoting Raje as saying.

The third phase of the campaign in the desert districts state will begin from December 9. Later, in the three non-desert districts- Alwar, Ajmer and Bhilwara, it will commence from December 15 while in remaining non-desert districts it is likely to start from January 20, 2018. Raje has instructed the officials to popularise the campaign so people could be aware what it holds.

“The campaign started with the aim of making the state self-reliant in the availability of water for drinking water and agriculture works has received unprecedented support of the common man. The MJSA has become the subject of discussion in the country and the world with its success,” said Raje.

Chairman of the Rajasthan River Basin Authority Shriram Vedire gave a presentation on the preparations of the next phase of MJSA to the CM. He informed that in the third phase, water storage structures will be developed in 4,840 villages in the districts. “The work of making and approving the Detailed Action Plan (DPR) at the district level is underway,” he apprised the CM.
