Vasundhara Raje spells out bypolls strategy

Meanwhile, CM Vasundhara Raje, at a tour to New Delhi met with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and Railway minister Piyush Goel on Wednesday. The CM sought assurance of quick release of funds for roads and for priority treatment to railway projects in Rajasthan.

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, on Wednesday, chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations of bypolls with her colleagues, senior cabinet ministers and BJP state president Ashok Parnami, Rajasthan general secretary Chandrashekhar at her residence. Raje, according to the reliable sources, has directed ministers, in-charge of the constituencies, to campaigning in bypoll-bound Ajmer, Alwar parliamentary and Mandalgarh assembly constituencies earliest on the line of Dholpur where party in bypoll registered a huge victory.

The ministers have been instructed to tour extensively the bypoll constituencies and work at ground level. Having dialogues with all sections of societies is also part of the strategy which the party experimented in Dholpur.

“In Dholpur assembly bypoll the party had adopted the same strategy. The ministers and party functionaries worked and campaigned together and the result was in our favour,” said a senior party office-bearer.

As per information from the sources, the ministers may start active campaigning in the areas they were made in-charge of from January 5. Till that time the declaration of party’s candidates is also expected. The BJP’s organization in-charge and minister in-charge will remain in the allotted constituency for five days in a week till the polls are held in all the three by-electoral constituencies.

The ministers who attended the meeting included education minister Vasudev Devnani, cooperative minister Ajay Singh Kilak, parliamentary affairs minister Rajendra Rathore, health minister Kali Charan Saraf, and industry minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat.   

Notable, the by-elections in the Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha constituencies and Mandalgarh Assembly constituency will be held on January 29. BJP has appointed ministers as election in-charge and organisation functionaries in each assembly constituency of all 19 constituencies of Ajmer, Alwar apart from one in Mandalgarh.
