Unplanned toilets pose threat to traffic management in Jaipur

JMC has encroached footpaths meant for safety of pedestrians. They have to pass through heaving traffic staking their lives. At some locations, toilets constructed on traffic intersections making them accident prone zones.

JMC has built two toilets on the footpath under the cooperative building. The footpath has been completely ‘killed’ with wire fenced around these restrooms leaving no space for pedestrians. Similar is the situation at the government press intersection where toilet is constructed on the road turn obstructing the traffic. The worst case scenario is at the outside of the BJP state headquarters where utility is constructed near the drinking water borewell, raising the possibility of mixing up of sewerage and drinking water.

200 NEW TOILETS

• JMC has constructed 200 new toilets were built under the SBM. It has also got the GPS mapping and tagging done. 
   
• The central team would be able to conduct survey of these toilets on the basis of their GPS location. 
   
• The corporation has installed feedback screens across 150 restrooms in the city. 
   
• The feedback points of public will be considered while finalising the ranking of the city in the Swachh Survekshan.
