Prohibitory orders and Internet restrictions were waived at Udaipur district on Saturday after three days of unrest and confusion. Communal tension had gripped the city following the incident of Rajsamand hate killing and demonstration of right wing organisations protesting anti- national slogans allegedly raised by at public gathering. The demonstration on Thursday had turned violent as the demonstrators clashed with police leaving several injured.

Social media though has emerged as a major culprit in the incident. "Many of those protesting on Thursday were unaware of the exact cause of their protest. They had arrived following stray messages on social media calling for gathering at the city,"  police superintendent Udaipur told DNA.

Few groups had previously claimed that on Thursday, the demonstration was in support of the Rajsamand hate crime accused, Shambhulal while others held it to be against the anti social slogans. Even as the exact cause and those to be behind the notorious social media messages are still to be identified, police and administration have sought to levy ban on mobile internet and imposition of Section 144 to keep the situations under control. The prohibitory orders were though called off as city remains peaceful since Thursday evening clash.
