On Wednesday, the little known village of Sanwrad in Nagaur, the hometown of gangster Anandpal Singh, will be witness to probably the largest gathering of Rajput community members ever recorded in the history of the area.
Demanding CBI investigation into gangster Anandpal Singh’s encounter, the organisations like Karni Sena and similar outfits are hoping to gather a lakh members from the Rajput, Ravna Rajput and other communities to pressurise the government into bowing down to their demands for a CBI probe.

Heading towards Sanwrad, the people will have to get themselves checked several times as police officials and pickets have been posted at various spots.
Although the administration has issued orders banning carrying of swords and fire arms, the police officers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that no person comes armed and thus they are being checked thoroughly.
Representatives of several community organisations and outfits will be reaching Sanwrad on Wednesday and are expected to reach along with a large crowd. The crowd is being gathered from various villages from Nagaur and Churu districts and Shekhawati region of the state. Meanwhile ahead of the gathering of the Rajputs at Anandpal Singh’s native village the home department after reviewing the law and order situation in the area has suspended the internet services in Nagaur, Churu and Bikaner district. There would be a complete ban on carrying weapons while attending the gathering in the village. Section 144 has been imposed in the region, said sources.
