The process of giving loan waiver certificates to the eligible farmers got a massive response on the second day as thousands flocked to Chomu tehsil of Jaipur district on Tuesday. In the camp that was set up at Sandarsar Gram Seva Sahkari Samiti, 749 farmers were to obtain the loan waiver benefits of Rs 2 crore 21 lakhs in the scheme. But it was only 17 farmers who received the certificates on the spot.
Divisional commissioner T Ravikant, registrar Sahakarita Rajan Vishal, Chomu MLA Ramlal Sharma and other dignitaries of the area were present on the occasion. Moreover, names of some farmers were not in the list as their relevant documents were not seeded with the bank accounts. On the other hand, the dependents of the farmers who are no more, will also get the benefit of the scheme after presenting the death certificate.
“The scheme is being set up in the state for providing benefits of loan waiver of Rs 8,400 crore to 29 lakh farmers,” said Rajan Vishal. Chomu MLA Sharma said, “Apart from loan waiver scheme, the government has also done various other works for the benefit of the farmers.”
