Social justice and empowerment minister Arun Chaturvedi has denied the possibility of a third front in the state. He said that both BJP and Congress are dominant parties in the state and that negates the likelihood of the third front.

Addressing the press conference at BJP’s headquarters, Chaturvedi said in regard to the third front that if we look at the history of the state, then the possibility of the third front here does not arise. Chaturvedi targeted Congress on Karnataka issue and said that after the Assembly elections a big debate has sparked. “The Governor gave an invitation to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government and Congress is crying foul over BJP’s formation of the government there,” Chaturvedi said.

He added that though Congress is saying that BJP has killed democracy, there is no democracy inside the Congress party. “Congress is doing dynasty politics. Following independence, the Congress-led governments have violated the constitution,” he said.

Chaturvedi reminded of the Emergency imposed by former prime minister Indira Gandhi ‘to save her government’ and the dissolvement of BJP governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh after the Ayodhya Movement in 1992.

He, meanwhile, was all praise for BJP and its governance at the Center and the state.
