The Congress believes that the bad performance and corruption by the BJP government in the last five years is going to decide the decision of the public in Rajasthan.
While addressing the press conference organised by All India Congress Committee on Saturday at State Congress Headquarters in Jaipur, spokesman Pawan Khera said that the statement given by the national president of BJP Amit Shah during is Bikaner visit as confusing. In which, Shah had said that as compared to the last budget of the Congress government of Rs 94,000 crore, the last budget of the BJP government was raised to Rs 2.12 lakh crore.
Khera also said that Shah is not an economist, and he should have taken care that Rs 60,000 crore of Uday Yojana are also included in this Rs 2.12 lakh crore, whose burden was put on the people of the state, but they will not reap any benefits out of it. Therefore, the net amount of the budget is only Rs 1.52 lakh crore only, which is 1.6 times the last budget of the Congress government.
On the contrary, the budget for the 2013-14 of Congress government was Rs 97,208 crore against the amount of Rs 41,065 crore of the BJP government in 2008-09, which was 2.3 times. It is evident from the stats how fast was the growth rate at the time of the Congress government and how it slowed down during the current BJP government.
Khera added that Shah should give an explanation on the continuation of the lack of budget from the Centre in the National Secondary Education Mission, mid-day meal and Agricultural Development Scheme, and the bad performance of his party MPs in Gram Panchayats. The government will have to answer the fraud done with the farmers of the state for five years.
