Spokesperson’s job: Aspirants quizzed on Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot’s traits

The aspirants who appeared to give interview for the post of Congress spokespersons in Rajasthan found themselves in a tricky situation when they were asked to describe and differentiate between the qualities of RPCC chief Sachin Pilot and AICC general secretary (organisation) Ashok Gehlot. As both are top leaders in Rajasthan Congress and contenders for the post of chief minister, the candidates had a tough time striking a balance in describing the two different personalities and maintained a balance in their reply ensuring not to criticise anyone. 

A panel chaired by the party spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi conducted the interview at PCC headquarters on Tuesday. Nearly 116 aspirants have been shortlisted whose interview will continue on Wednesday. Sources said that the party wants to appoint nearly half dozen spokespersons in the state to take on BJP’s agenda while taking part in various debates in the wake of the assembly election.

The interviewees said that they were asked questions related to current political scenarios and ideology of the party. Their oratory skills were checked too. About 500 aspirants took written test in January this year. Several of them were educationist, MBA degree holders who showed interest to be the voice of the party voice. Many of them were leaders who are having no portfolio currently. Out of them, the party high command has shortlisted nearly 116 whose interview begun from Tuesday. If sources are to be believed the party may appoint spokesperson at divisional headquarter level as well.
