Slow pace of water projects irks Vasundhara Raje

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje has expressed displeasure over slow speed of water projects which are running in Baran and Jhalawar districts.

She has ordered the additional chief engineer and superintendent engineer to complete the projects on set time frame so that the locals can get the benefit of these water projects. Currently chief minister is on a tour of Hadauti and was conducting jansunwai of Baran-Atru Assembly area on Tuesday.

Raje also called up principal secretary of PHED Rajat Mishra and asked him for strict monitoring of these projects. 

While meeting the people she also called upon the farmers to use new technologies and ideas in agriculture.

She said that the farmers will have to study the cropping pattern and increase the productivity. Raje said that there are many opportunities apart from traditional agriculture in districts like Baran which could change their lives. She said that farmers will have to get expertise like that of Israel.

Raje batted for techniques like micro irrigation and made them understand the importance of water conservation. She said that with such methods of irrigation maximum utilization of water can be done.

Raje also met the beneficiaries of various government schemes like Bhamashah health insurance scheme and also heard the experiences of people who had taken benefit of senior citizen pilgrimage scheme.

The chief minister, while meeting the people, informed them about the various developmental works which have been taken up in Baran Atru constituency and informed that in last 4.5 years, works worth about Rs 1400 crore have been approved while the previous Congress government in its total tenure had spent merely Rs 434 crores.

Before the jansamwad, Raje distributed laptops to meritorious students and scooties to the differently abled. She also gave away the cheques to the beneficiaries of Rajshri Yojana, Ujjawala Scheme, Palanhaar Scheme.
