Congress will intensify its ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ (My booth, My Pride) program to connect workers with the party at grassroots level and those leaders who have differences with party and certain leaders will be ‘pacified’ to strengthen the party.

This strategy was primary discussion of first meeting of Congress coordination committee constituted for upcoming assembly elections which was chaired by Rajasthan in-charge and AICC general secretary Avinash Pandey on Wednesday.

RPCC chief Sachin Pilot, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi were among 23 members of the committee who pondered over the strategy to continue the momentum of party’s victory in bypolls.

Buoyed by the results of recent by-elections, where the Congress fared well winning all three seats, the senior leaders present in the meeting discussed ways to strengthen its base at the booth level and reach out to the masses through aggressive mass contact ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ program. In three by-elections seats - Alwar, Ajmer and Mandalgarh - the party held the programs and party leaders believe it gave positive result to bring back and the voters to the party.

Apart from this, discussion on manifesto for upcoming assembly election was also discussed. The sources said that the leaders unanimously laid stress to draft manifesto after taking feedback even from the village and hamlet level.

“As nine months are left for state election, the party coordination committee meeting discussed the strategy. All leaders in a single voice expressed commitment to fighting the election with proper coordination and continue winning momentum of the by-elections,” said Dudi.

Gehlot, meanwhile, talking to scribes after the the meeting, said that party has registered a historical victory and it will be continued till the assembly and Lok Sabha election with coordination.

Notably, last week party president Rahul Gandhi formed Rajasthan Pradesh Congress coordination committee aimed at drafting strategy for upcoming election slated later in the year end. Announcing the committee, the Congress president has also attempted to strike a power balance among the party leaders.
