A team of state health department busted a racket in the city and arrested two people who used to take money for the abortion after performing a fake sonography test for gender determination of fetus and falsely claiming that the fetus was a girl.
The decoy operation was conducted on Tuesday late night by a team constituted under Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) Act for determination and revealing the sex of the baby through sonography machine.
“The team arrested Harish and Mukesh Saini, both are resident of Achrol at Jaipur-Delhi highway.” State appropriate authority, PCPNDT and mission Director, NHM Naveen Jain told. “There was a continuous flow of information that some people were active in villages and town on Delhi road who used to contact pregnant women and conduct gender determination test. After the verification of the information, the decoy team was formed.
According to the strategy, the decoy pregnant woman and her assistant contacted Harish and expressed inclination towards gender test of the fetus. Harish asked Rs 30,000 and assured that he will conduct the test,” he added.
“After receiving the money, Harish took them near a government school in Achrol where Mukesh was present with a car. Harish, in the car, with the help of laptop and thumb impression machine, pretended as if he was doing sonography. As he declared the gender of the fetus, on the tip-off from the decoy, the team raided the place and arrested both of them. The money given by the pregnant was recovered and the team also seized a laptop, thumb impression machine and the car,” said Jain.
