Jaipur witnessed scattered rainfall on late Tuesday evening, bringing the much-needed respite to the people. Scattered areas of the city were drenched.
Rajasthan has been witnessing different shades of weather for last couple of days. While almost all the western parts of the state have been witnessing dry weather conditions, Southeast Rajasthan has received light rainfall activity during the past 24 hours. As per MeT department, on Tuesday, heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in Nagaur district while thunderstorm with light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few places in East Rajasthan and at isolated places in West Rajasthan.
The rainfall, however, could not provide any relief from the scorching heat and mercury continued to be above 40 degrees Celsius in almost all parts of the state. In fact, Churu recorded the maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius, highest in the state while Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar each recorded maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius.
As per MeT report, Dabok recorded rainfall to the tune of 67.8 mm while Bakani (Jhalawar), Chhoti Sadri (Pratapgarh), Sabla and Aspur (both in Dungarpur) recorded 60 mm rainfall. In Jaipur, there were cloud activities in the sky during the morning. The day went dry except traces at one or two places. Maximum temperature once again remained 6° above normal and recorded at 40.8° Celsius. Minimum temperature was recorded at 30.6° Celsius.
