The people of Sanganer Assembly constituency are set to create a world record by hoisting 1 lakh tricolours on the Independence Day under the ‘Mera Gaurav-Mera Tiranga’ campaign.

Nearly, 95,000 have been enrolled for the cause which is an initiative of ‘Sanskriti Yuva Sansthan’ headed by Congress leader Suresh Mishra. “We have launched the campaign to hoist 1 lakh tricolours altogether on the Independence day. With this we will aim to create a world record, as it would be for the first time that the national flag in such huge numbers will be hoisted together,” said Mishra, Pradesh Congress committee secretary.

Mishra and his volunteers have enrolled 23,000 families of Sanganer vicinity, suggesting over 1 lakh individuals participation, taking 5 members in each family on an average.

The leader claimed that the drive is aimed to display our centuries old social fabric as individuals rising above caste, creed and religion will come together and show unity by hoisting the national flag at the same time.

“An awareness drive prior to the event is being run by the volunteers to brief people how to adhere to the national flag code at the time of event. We conducted 355 meetings in the constituency, in which thousands participated.

Since July 29 we are also holding Tiranga Samman Yatra apprising the people of importance of tricolor. I am waiting when Sanganer constituency will witness hoisting of flag by 1 lakh people,” said Mishra. He added that flags are being distributed at free of cost.

The organization has directed individuals to Whatsapp photos of flag hoisting which would then be sent to World Book of Records, London for registering the event for record and acknowledge it by issuing a certificate.

“After getting the certificate from World Book of Records our organization will also issue certificate to the individuals took part in the event,” told Mishra to DNA.
