Congress has got active in bypoll bound parliamentary constituency Ajmer and Alwar which were extensively toured by the chief minister Vasundhara Raje recently. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot campaigned in Pushkar area of Ajmer on Thursday and he is scheduled to tour Alwar on Friday. Pilot, who has been considered top choice as the candidate from his home constituency Ajmer, met people, particularly in the rural areas of Tijara during his day-long campaigning. On this occasion, he made a veiled attack on the chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

“People saw the rule of BJP and Congress, both. They have to decide which party serves people on the priority and who are those indulging into politics centralize powers only,” said Pilot in a statement released from the party office. A week back he toured both constituencies too. The bypoll bound both constituencies are crucial for both, ruling BJP and opposition Congress. Pilot has emerged as the face of the party and considered one of the top choices for CM’s face. The election will test his efficiency in poll management and how much he worked to boost party perspective against BJP which a couple of months back won Dholpur byelection with a huge margin.

CM Raje’s reputation is also at stake in the election. She has to retain these constituencies which will prove her mettle and leave a strong message what could be the result of coming assembly polls scheduled to be held in December next year. That’s the reason why Raje toured extensively for one month in both constituencies and had dialogues with commoners directly under CM Jan Samvad Program. Simultaneously, she showered sops to the areas to appease the people. Both major parties are in the poll mode, however, the suspense continues over the candidature. Pilot from Ajmer and his colleague as a former minister in UPA government Bhanwar Jitendra Singh from Alwar are being mulled, though Congress, which has got new president Rahul Gandhi is yet to take the final call. On the other hand, the BJP is considering Ramswaroop Lamba, son of late MP Sanwar Lal Jat, to be fielded in Ajmer and current labour minister Jaswant Singh Yadav from Alwar.
