Russian troupe set for musical-acrobatic show in Jaipur

After head-turning performance in Moscow, the troupe has reached India and the acrobatic group will perform in Jaipur.

In a first, the Pink City will witness one of a kind musical acrobatic performance by the Russian group, Reverse on October 31 at Maharana Pratap Auditorium, Vidyashram School. 

After head-turning performance in Moscow, the troupe has reached India and the acrobatic group will perform in Jaipur. The group consists of 26 members, who perform acrobats and also give live music for the performance. The production has been created by young Russian directors Andrey Koltsov and Irina Drozhzhina, with the participation of Emmy Award-winning Canadian choreographer Debra Brown.

The show is being organised to celebrate days of Russian Culture in India by Indian Council of Cultural Relations. “Last time, we organised acrobatic show by a Chinese group a few years ago and people really liked it. So, we thought to bring a musical acrobatic group from Russia. The performance will be very different to what people have ever seen in Jaipur and the group is performing first time in India,” shared PR Meena, regional officer, ICCR, Jaipur. 

Reverse has already stunned the audience in Delhi with their performance, which was their first overseas performance and the second will be in Jaipur. The group has done over 50 shows in Moscow. Russian Ambassador to India Nikolay Kudashev said the two countries will come even closer through cultural events like this

After this show, the ICCR is organising Ramayana by Nepalese group at Masala Chowk, Ram Niwas Bagh on November 2. The passes for the musical acrobatic show by Reverse can be collected from ICCR office, Jawahar Kala Kendra.

Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh stressed on the importance of cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

After the show, Koltsov told the audience, “Thank you. I wish to say that the doors between India and Russia should always be open,” to thunderous applause.

After performing in Moscow, troupe has reached India to perform in Jaipur. The group consists of 26 members, who perform acrobats and also give live music for the performance.
