RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat reached Jodhpur on Friday for a ten-day Rajasthan tour that is aimed at consolidating the BJP’s fortunes in the upcoming assembly elections in state. Office bearers of RSS welcomed him at the airport upon his arrival. He proceeded to attend a meeting with RSS officials in Jodhpur, said sources. Bhagwat will go to Nagaur on Sunday morning where he shall be camping for the next 5 days.

Bhagwat arrived at the Hedvedekar Bhawan from the airport. He attended a meeting of officials of Jodhpur province here. The Sangh Abhyas Varg (training camp) of the Jodhpur unit will be held in Nagaur on September 22 and 23 while RSS’s Karyavah of the prant and the mandal in the district will see participation from in the Varg that will be addressed by the RSS chief. It will be followed by a two-day meeting of the Vanaprastha volunteers across the Rajasthan that will be held in Nagaur on September 24 and 25. This will be the time when he will also review the organisational work of RSS in the state. Bhagwat will address the executives’ meeting of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chittorgarh prant and Rajasthan region on September 26. A similar meeting will also be held in Nagaur.

While RSS officials are claiming that his visit is to strengthen the organizational structure of the RSS in state and help improve its contribution to the society, the talk in the political corridors is that the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to bolster its chances at a comeback in the state in upcoming polls. With RSS taking care of its back, the party expects to pull off the feat in December this year.

His visit is being seen in continuance of party’s national president Amit Shah’s weekly visit to the state to boost the workers’ confidence and take the Centre’s schemes to the people ahead of the polls.

Met RTD Justices

On the first day of his Rajasthan tour, Mohan Bhagwat also met retired justices in Jodhpur and held long closed door discussion with them. He will go to Nagaur on Sunday morning where he will camp for 5 days.
