Acting on chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s directives, public works department (PWD) is going to spend Rs 237 crore to improve pilgrimage to Giriraj Dharan. The money will be spent on ‘parikrama’ path and other facilities.

About 150 km area of Brij Chaurasi kose parikrama falls in Rajasthan’s territory. The parikrama path from Aadi Badri Parvat to Goverdhan and from Char Dham to Sait and Norera upto UP border is not in good condition. Therefore, 6 crore pilgrims who come here annually face huge problems.

MLAs of Bharatpur, Deeg, Kaman and Nagar, saints and sewadars of Giriraj Dharan had met the CM many times regarding this who took the matter seriously and sent PWD minister, Yunus Khan along with officials for inspection of Goverdhan parikrama marg last week. Khan stayed there for two days to discuss the matter and subsequently four packages were prepared.

In the first package, toilets construction and beautification work would be taken up in 1.5 km area of 7.5 kose parikrama marg; in the second phase development works worth Rs 36 crore would be taken up on 64 km long path. In the third phase, 3.5 km road would be built from Seu in Nagar to Jarkhod temple.

The fourth and final package includes 82 km road for an expense of Rs 200 crore.

Notably, there was an unmetalled road but was damaged long ago. Now, CM’s interest is going to change the experience of this parikrama. PWD minister, Yunus Khan said that all works would be completed within a year.
