Now, the teachers of the Rajasthan University are on a path of agitation while demanding implementation of the recommendations of seventh pay commission. The RU teachers staged a one-day symbolic dharna on Friday and they also wrote a letter addressed to chief minister Vasundhara Raje demanding seventh pay scale.

Singh said that the UGC’s separate pay commission recommended the implementation of the seventh pay scale in the universities. UGC accepted the commission’s recommendation on February 20, 2017, and sent it to the HRD Ministry. The Cabinet of Modi government accepted the recommendation of the Pay Commission on November 2, 2017. The Central government issued the circular to the state governments to implement UGC pay scales.

Even after this, the state government has not yet implemented UGC pay scales. “We are demanding the implementation of the sixth pay commission pay scale for six months. We have given a memorandum to the chief minister. But the government has not yet issued the order on it. We have to take the path of movement,” said Singh. “Today we have staged a symbolic dharna for one day. To get the pay scale implemented, we will soon meet Chief Minister Raje and Governor Kalyan Singh and give them a memorandum of our demands,” Singh said.
