Hours after four men got injured after being rammed by a scorpio car near Gandhi Nagar railway station, while they were asleep on the footpath, another person died taking the death toll to two. The driver of the scorpio was found inebriated and has confessed that he does not recall what happened.
Identified as Bharat Bhushan Meena, the Scorpio driver is a real estate dealer. “He has confessed that he had gone to a friend’s house where he consumed liquor and was returning home. He is a resident of sector six of Malviya Nagar area and a native of Karauli. He was so dazed that as soon as the gate of the car was opened, he fell out of the car and could not handle himself” officials said.
Meanwhile, another person of the four injured men, died on Friday while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The cops identified the four victim of the accident as Nanuram, Jagmohan, Sajid and Sitaram.
Notably, Late on Thursday night, an accident occurred near Saras factory wherein a fast moving scorpio SUV ran over four people sleeping on the footpath. The accident occurred between Saras factory and Gandhi Nagar railway station.
The driver of the Scorpio could not keep the vehicle under control and as a result, the car ran over the footpath and ran over four men, coming to a halt later. Eye witnesses and people passing the area at the time rushed to the aid of the injured and alerted the cops.
Within minutes, police officials reached the spot and an ambulance was also called to rush the injured to hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the scorpio was nabbed by locals and stopped from fleeing. He was handed over to the cops.
