Rajasthan: Spouse, mother get interim bail in Binny Sharma case

Rajasthan High Court has granted anticipatory bail to IAS husband Gurpreet Singh Walia and mother-in-law Ravinder Kaur, in the matter of abating Binny Sharma, who had been working as Deputy Commissioner in the IRS and GST department, for committing suicide. The single bench of Justice Sabina passed the order while hearing the anticipatory bail application filed by both the accused.

It was mentioned in the application that Binny had blocked the mobile number of Gurpreet and there was no contact between the two till seven months before the incident. 

In such a case, he should be released on bail. Contrary to which, it was said on behalf of Binny’s father that the accused is absconding for last one month and has not even attended the cremation of the deceased. Apart from this, he is not cooperating with the police in the investigation.
