The Rajasthan Royals, shall be distributing 1200 passes of IPL match scheduled for Saturday in Jaipur, among state cricketers . The Royals on Thursday announced the criteria for distribution of passes to cricketers from the share of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) in accordance to orders of Rajathan High Court.

The criteria has been decided in accordance with the recommendations of veteran cricketer appointed on court’s orders. It has though left a big question hanging regarding distribution of remaining passes.

“The court order had only empowered us for distribution of passes among cricketers of the state from RCA quota,” said an official with Rajasthan Royals. “The remaining passes shall be distributed by RCA official authorised by HC,” he adds.

Demand for passes remains high as this shall be last IPL match to be played at Jaipur in this season.

Meanwhile, RCA president CP Joshi, stripped of the responsibility to distribute passes, refused to comment as the issue as it rests with high court. RCA has a share of 10 per cent passes at the IPL matches being held at SMS Stadium of Jaipur with a capacity of nearly 30,000.

Veteran cricketer, Vinod Mathur appointed by the High Court to advise on the pass distribution to former cricketers said, “All those to have played and are playing cricket for Rajasthan, both men and women are eligible for passes in accordance to their seniority.”

All those who have played Ranji tournament and other cricketers playing for state are eligible for four passes each.

RUCHIR SPEAKS

Alwar DCA president, Ruchir Modi accused Joshi of misusing his position in distribution of promotional passes. “Now bypassing general body he has formed a committee consisting of his favourite and ignoring the talent and experience of those who oppose his high handedness and unfair conduct,” said Modi.
