The action of shooing away the private buses standing outside the Sindhi Camp bus stand has helped the Rajasthan Roadways to earn some extra revenue from the sale of tickets. Since last two days, the roadways employees have been removing the private buses, which are parked illegally outside the Sindhi Camp bus stand and taking the passengers from there.

This is helping the roadways as these passengers are now going inside the Sindhi Camp bus stand and buying the ticket from the window itself. This has increased the income of roadways by nearly Rs1lakh on average.

Sources informed that on an average, Rajasthan Roadways earns Rs 28-29 lakh income on a daily basis. Due to the drive taken out by roadways employees, on Thursday, the earning was Rs 30 lakhs at Sindhi Camp bus stand.

“The passenger load has increased and this is helping the roadways, the employees have been doing it on a self-motivational basis,” Kailash Badaya, chief manager at Sindhi Camp bus stand informed while speaking to DNA.

The roadways employees who get free from their duty are doing this on their own for about 2-3 hours since Thursday and the drive continued on Friday too. The roadways buses will see more passenger load in coming days since Thursday was Navratri and Friday was Dussehra, there was not much passenger load as its a holiday weekend. However, it’s expected that in the coming days, the passenger load of buses from Sindhi Camp will increase due to this drive.

Since the private buses are not being allowed to take passengers from the gate of Sindhi Camp, the road has also become traffic free.

Roadways employees have just returned after several days of the strike. The strike had already given roadways a loss of Rs 2 crore each day and now employees are trying hard to bring back the revenue on track.
