At a time when cyber space is fast becoming the place for providing training to personnel of various governments and departments, the Rajasthan Police has turned a new leaf by providing the citizens a facility of e-FIR (for vehicle thefts only).

Keeping in mind the time it takes to train police officials and to get them field ready, the state police has introduced the Learning Management System (LMS) for police personnel. Both the initiatives are under the aegis of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB). With this facility, Rajasthan has become the first state in the Nation to provide an option to register e-FIR and link the same with Crime and Criminal Tracking and Networking System (CCTNS).

Director General of Police OP Galhotra formally activated the feature on Thursday. He said, “By using the internet, the general public can access their vehicle theft report online. Even if the accused is unknown and force was not used on the victim, an e-FIR can be lodged,” he said. However, in the incident of theft in which the accused is known, or injury or force has been used during the incident, then its complaint can be filed only with the concerned police station, the top   cop said.

SCRB additional director general of police Hemant Priyadarshi said any citizen can login with his SSO-ID and register an E-FIR. “This system is also integrated with the Rajdhara App. It is a speciality of the system that an aggrieved party can without the knowledge of the jurisdiction of a police station can register an e-FIR,” he said.

The territorial limit of police stations in Rajdhara App has already been specified. “A person can mark the location of theft on Rajdhara’s aap. The name of the concerned police station and the information of the location is automatically recorded in the complaint form,” the ADG informed DNA.

Keeping in mind that any miscreant can use the facility to create trouble, the police has taken it under consideration to take strict action against such people. “In the event wrong information is provided or this facility is misused, legal proceedings will be brought against the applicant under the IPC,” said Sharat Kaviraj, Deputy Inspector General, SCRB.

While the public has been provided with a facility, the police personnel have also been provided a major boost in their training curriculum as DGP OP Galhotra launched LMS (Learning Intelligent System) software.

“Through this software, the officers and staff of the police department can get various types of online training, which will increase their knowledge and talent constantly, and improve their functionality. Along with the CCTNS, other training will be provided through the software. This software will also provide training related to various laws through videos,” said Additional Director General, SCRB Hemant Priyadarshi. He added, “Police officers and employees will be able to login with their ID and view related training course through LMS on their mobile or computer any time and anywhere.”

All district superintendents and the deputy commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur have been given instructions to ask officials under them to make use of the system and the training materials provided in it. Kaviraj said that authorized officer will do online monitoring of the training course handed over to the police personnel by LMS. Monitoring can also be done by completing the training course.
