Though drug addicts of poppy husk were also provided treatment and medicines on the government level, gradually most of the people started consuming drugs again.

Poppy husk smuggling is mostly being done in the rural areas of the district. With the ban imposed on the selling of poppy husk in the market, smugglers also increased its price. At present, the drug is available at Rs 7,000 per kg.

Due to this, smugglers are also ready to take the risk and the smuggling has increased. Last year, the police recovered more than 75 quintals of poppy husk, whose market price is currently being reported more than Rs 5 crore.

The smugglers have now started using luxury cars for transporting poppy husk because of which the police does not stop seeing respected people. Similarly, two-wheelers are been used for the smuggling of smack and opium.

Last year, 25 vehicles were seized by the police, including 9 cars and 9 motorcycles. Similarly, 3 jeeps, 2 Bolero cars and 2 trucks were recovered in the case of smuggling.
