Rajasthan Polls: Officials learn to use EVM & VVPAT machines

These will be used together for the first time in both the Assembly and General elections. The district masters trainers have been asked to train more trainers at assembly level.

Rajasthan election department on Wednesday conducted a workshop at OTS, while imparting training to 55 district-level master trainers on the usage of EVM and VVPAT machines. 

These will be used together for the first time in both the Assembly and General elections. The district masters trainers have been asked to train more trainers at assembly level.

Additional chief electoral officer Jogaram while convening those attending the workshop said that EVM, VVPAT machines are transparent and awareness regarding usages of machines will be spread so that the electoral process becomes easier. 55 district level master trainers who got training from will further train five officials in each Assembly area and share with them practical and theoretical information of machines. The boot level trainers will get training from the Assembly trainers.

The election authorities are geared up for poll preparations. On August 10 the authorities have scheduled a workshop on use of Information Technology (IT) which will be addressed by the ECI officials. The district level officers engaged in electoral process will take part in the workshop.

The Assembly election in state is expected to be held in December. It is for the first time every booth in Rajasthan will use EVM and VVPAT machines together during polling. In all 200 assembly constituencies the VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) machines with EVMs will be installed in all 52,000 booths to conduct the elections.
