Newly elected Congress MPs Raghu Sharma and Karan Singh Yadav, and MLA Vivek Dhakad reached New Delhi on Tuesday to celebrate the party's victory with AICC (All India Congress Committee) president Rahul Gandhi.

Accompanied with RPCC chief Sachin Pilot, AICC general Secretary CP Joshi and Leader of Opposition Rameshwer Dudi, Sharma, Yadav and Dhakad shared their experience of campaigning with the Gandhi scion and reportedly discussed the strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls slated in the end of the year. Rahul congratulated the winners who also called on Sonia Gandhi.

Yadav and Sharma, who won the Alwar and Ajmer parliamentary constituencies respectively, took the oath of office before the Lok Sabha was adjourned on Monday. Dhakad is expected to take oath of office in Rajasthan Assembly on Tuesday as he missed the first day of the budget session on Monday due to his visit to Delhi.

With the bypolls victory, the Congress party's strength in the Lok Sabha has gone up to 48. The win is also significant as the Congress had lost all the 25 parliamentary seats in Rajasthan in the 2014 general elections. Meanwhile, with new MLAs, the strength of the party in Rajasthan Assembly reached 25 in the house of 200. In last eight bypolls election, Congress has won six, increasing its tally to 25 from 21 which was in 2013.

After meeting Gandhi, Pilot reached Udaipur, where party supporters gave him a warm welcome on the party's victory in bypoll. Pilot has decided to tour tribal districts, Udaipur and Banswara and will also visit Jhalawar, home turf of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. His visit, as per party sources, is an exercise to sketch out a strategy for the Assembly polls, due in December this year.

Meanwhile, Pilot demanded that the Raje government order a high-level inquiry into an alleged irregularity in social justice department and also take action to end stamp vendor strike on for over 10 days. "A high-level inquiry should be ordered into the irregularities of giving scholarship to ineligible students worth Rs100 crore. The accountability on officials concerned should be fixed as they are responsible for the irregularities."
