Police offcials claim that the matter could be of natural death as well, but investigation will be conducted for murder angle to rule out any possibilities.
The dead body of a man was found in the Bapu Bazaar area of the city on Thursday morning. The Kotwali police was informed about the discovery. A team was rushed to the spot and it recovered the dead body.
Police has now started investigation into the matter to ascertain the deceased’s identity and so far its efforts have bore no fruits. Interestingly, the post mortem of the deceased cannot be conducted till the time the family members are not found which can be possible only after the victim’s identity is ascertained.

Early in the morning, the Kotwali police received recurring calls from shop owners in the area informing that the dead body of a man was lying at the spot. “A team from Kotwali police station was rushed to the spot and upon reaching there, the team cordoned off the area and removed the crowd from the spot.
An FSL team was called in at the spot, while pictures of the deceased were also taken, police said. “The pockets in the deceased’s clothes were checked to find any identity-related document however nothing could be found,” officials added.
After the formalities were completed, the cops recovered the dead body and kept it at the mortuary. “Since the identity has not been ascertained, we cannot do post mortem just yet,” a cop said. The information about the deceased has been shared with other police stations which will find out if anyone is missing from their areas. “We will recover CCTV footage from installed cameras as well to find more information about the man. Investigation into the matter will be conducted to probe all angles,” an official investigating the case said.
The hunt for the identity of the deceased is on.

Since the identity has not been ascertained, we cannot do post-mortem just yet, a cop said. The information about the deceased has been shared with other police stations who will help find out missing persons.
